Aruna Kumar is the principal of Makara Point Consulting, LLC. She has worked in video-hardware product development and software-based image processing at Intel, Hewlett-Packard, and Digimarc corporations. At Intel, Aruna worked on rudimentary gesture recognition. A love of images and image processing led her next to Digimarc to work on digital watermarking technologies in the Fourier domain. Aruna and her team developed products for a group of clients whose needs included hiding signals robustly, and extracting signals from challenging scans and image manipulations. Aruna then moved to Hewlett-Packard, where she produced color correction look-up tables and image-processing enhancements for the laser-drum-based Indigo™ digital press. Finally, just prior to establishing Makara Point Consulting, Aruna led the effort that produced the highly regarded optical and color-image quality of Hewlett-Packard's new line of DLP™-based High Definition RPTVs.
